Our Snow Make-Up Days
Dear Kinder Works Parents,
Pursuant to our Policies, we have 2 snow days to make up this year. Therefore, Kinder Works will be open for all classes on Monday, April 2nd (previously Spring Holiday) and on Friday, April 27th (previously Parent-Teacher Conferences). Parent-Teacher Conferences will be rescheduled, and details will follow soon.
One of our snow make-up days should land on a Tuesday or Thursday, since that schedule lost 2 days. However, we do not have a Tuesday or Thursday remaining in this school year to spare. Therefore, we are giving those who have a Tuesday/Thursday schedule a free day during our Summer Camp season in the form of a voucher, which can be used whenever is convenient. If you have this schedule, watch your email for a voucher, and for more information about our camp.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, we are here to serve you. Just pop in and talk with us, or email us at email@example.com, or call 215-348-8082.
Spring Egg Hunts
Tuesday & Wednesday, March 27th & 28th
Kinder Works welcomes Spring with our annual Egg Hunts! During your child’s Gym & Music period, the Kinder Works Rabbit will hide her eggs all over our playground. Who knows… maybe there will be some dinosaur eggs! We will catch some pictures of the excitement as the boys and girls try to find all of the secret hiding places and fill their bags with special treats.
SEL (“EQ”) Show & Tell Thursday & Friday, March 22nd & 23rd
“My Family Cares for One Another”
As we are looking into pre-history this month, we can see that survival often depends on families taking care of their babies, as well as older and weaker members. Ice Age movies are funny, but they demonstrate, “that’s what you do in a herd: you look out for each other”. Long before that, we can see that even dinosaur eggs had to be protected by the parents!
Who are the members of your family, and how do they take care of one another? For Show and Tell this month, talk with your little one about your family unit, and how various members show that they care. Your little one can draw a picture, bring in a photo, or something that shows how his or her family cares for one another.
“Lucky” the Leprechaun Visits
Thursday & Friday, March 15th & 16th
Around St. Patrick’s Day each year, Lucky the Leprechaun travels from his home in Ireland, or ‘The Emerald Isle,’ all the way to Kinder Works! He tries to trick us with “upside down antics” and leaves a glittery shamrock trail throughout our school. We’ll find out if this shimmery path leads to his treasured pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!
Our March Theme:
We are going to visit ‘the land before time’, and think about what it was like to walk in the footsteps of dinosaurs! Tyrannosaurus and brontosaurus, pterodactyl and stegosaurus all roamed the earth in a lifetime before us. What did they eat and how large were they? It fires up our imaginations! We can read stories about them, both fiction and fact… and paint or sculpt their likenesses… but we are still not sure about their true nature; we are still studying their remains…
As we become explorers in various prehistoric times, we find clues from fossils to cave paintings. What plants grew here or there, and how were fossils made? What animals came after dinosaurs, and what came next? When primitive man entered prehistory, what stories did he tell? What did he need to survive? Where did he live and how did he get his food?
Over millions of years, there is much to discover and learn. This theme promises to be more than a night at the museum!
We will take 2 days off to pay attention to Lucky the Leprechaun and his wild antics! And 2 more days for Spring Egg Hunts…
